In an appeal for global understanding of Muslim sentiments on blasphemy, Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf chief Imran Khan on Saturday called for comprehensive legislation to outlaw hate speech and promote respect for all faiths.
“Comprehensive legislation must be introduced by the global community to dismantle the trend and ensure respect for all religions across the globe,” he said in a speech at the Chitral Polo Ground.
The PTI leader was referring to a sacrilegious film, which sparked off widespread protests by Muslims around the world.
Imran said people in Europe can be jailed for just questioning the historic facts linked to the Holocaust because it hurts the sentiments of the Jews. “We are also being hurt in the name of freedom of speech,” he said.
Promises for Chitral
Imran said that his party had formulated uplift schemes aimed at providing employment opportunities for Chitral district.
Imran said he realised how much underdeveloped Chitral was after travelling through the Lowari Tunnel.
He promised that when PTI forms government, it would complete the much awaited tunnel project and the same would pave way for creating employment opportunities for the locals.
Imran said that the PTI would establish a university and provide justice, health and education facilities in Chitral if it came to power.
Peace march to Waziristan
Imran said that no other party had the courage to go to Waziristan except PTI which “is the only party that has decided to go and meet the heirs of the victims of drone attacks in a peace caravan on October 7.”
Imran said the peace caravan would include journalists and human rights organisations, who would tell the world who were the actual victims of drone attacks.
He said the unmanned craft were not just killing militants they were also killing innocent men, women and children.

The problem was NOT Freedom of speech,Mr.Khan...this is what the journalists, who did NOT study law,are saying.
The offender is livig in Los Angeles...Facit...according to the Rules of Criminal Procedure, the venue of a trial against him, ought to be in LA...jurisdiction has the SUPERIOR COURT of LA County.
As far as NOBODY filed a claim at this Court,it is NOT starting a MOTION.
THERE IS NOT SUO MOTO in the western jurisdictions!
Beside this the LEGAL problem here is a standing to sue.
WHO HAS A STANDING TO SUE? Only the judicial or natural person, who's rights are tangated, violated. Only a Moslen Organisation has a standing to sue.
I studied law in Berlin and in BERKELEY,California, but I hear for first time from Imran Khan, that people here,in the West ,are detained(put in a prison) for denying links to Holocaust.
I will check agian the German PENAL Code.I think it is written in the Grundgesetz(constitution),but it is not punishable.
Blasphemy...OK,if it is a law, which punishes it,but WHY such HIGH punishment?
@Qaisar

Jews only kill muslims--In Palestine and brutally so :
Dear Imran Khan, your point is very valid that this sort of blasphemy hurts Muslims just like Holocaust deniers hurt Jews, but Jews don't go around killing people in retaliation.
