Political rivalry: Flag-hoisting scuffle results in one death

The people of the area intervened and the matter was hushed up.

SUKKUR: A clash between two political parties resulted in the death of one person and left eight injured in Bozdar Wada situated in the Kumb police limits in Khairpur. A Pakistan Muslim League-Functional (PML-F) worker, Nihal Khaskheli, was killed and Ali Murad, Mohammad Nawaz, Mumtaz, and Arbab Khatoon, were injured when the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) workers, armed with hatchets and wooden sticks, raided their houses. The injured were shifted to Civil Hospital, Khairpur. A couple of days earlier, PPP workers took down and burnt a PML-F flag which was hoisted on an electric pole. This sparked a feud and PML-F workers, Atta Hussain, Zameer, Nisar and Ali Mohammad, were beaten up. The people of the area intervened and the matter was hushed up. No case was registered till the filing of this report.
