It is about time our fan industry gets updated with latest available technology or it won’t be able to survive in the international market.

These views were expressed by National University of Science and Technology (Nust) Pro-Rector Engineer M Shahid during a meeting with a delegation of Pakistan Electric Fan Manufacturers Association (PEFMA) on Friday, said a press release.

The visit was arranged by the Engineering Development Board (EDB) to establish linkages between the fan industry and educational institutes.

The 10-member delegation was headed by PEFMA Chairman Tajjamal Hussain Shah.

The delegation was inspired by the labs and scientific activities at Nust and expressed its desire to develop a long-term relationship with the varsity.

Meanwhile, Dean of Nust School of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science Dr Hassan Zaidi briefed the delegation on research activities at Nust and highlighted the role it can play to stengthen the industry.

An eight-member steering committee comprising PEFMA, EDB and Nust officials was also formed to monitor the progress and resolve issues faced by the fan industry.
