KARACHI: SITE Association of Industry Chairman Muhammad Irfan Moton has expressed concerns on low gas pressure in the SITE industrial area. Production in the industrial area has been badly affected due to anomalous gas pressure for the last two days, he said in a press statement released on Friday. Industrial production in the area stopped and several captive power generating units had to halt operations due to the insufficient supply of gas. Meanwhile, a Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC) spokesperson on Friday said that gas supply to all industrial zones of Karachi will remain closed from Sunday September 16, 7 am, to Tuesday September 18, 7 am, owing to low gas pressure in the SSGC system. Moton demanded that the SSGC MD look into the issue and take necessary steps for improvement of gas pressure in the industrial estate.
