Former national captain Mohammad Essa led KESC to a 2-0 win over HBL in their 9th Pakistan Premier Football League (PPFL) match at the KPT football stadium yesterday.
KESC took an early lead when defender Aurangzaib Baba struck the first goal just four minutes into the match while Essa scored the second goal 13 minutes before the final whistle to seal the result. Essa has not played for Pakistan since his retirement in 2009 but remains one of the best players in the country.
KESC now has 11 points while KRL has 12.
In the other match of the day, hosts PMC ATH FC drew 1-1 against Wapda.
