KARACHI:

State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) Governor Yaseen Anwar has said that there is huge potential in the global remittance market for Pakistan.

Speaking during an award distribution ceremony held in recognition of bankers’ services in facilitating home remittances through the Pakistan Remittance Initiative (PRI), he said that banks have started to improve their infrastructure and related systems with a view to offering better remittance services to their customers.

Anwar observed that continued growth in workers’ remittances is a result of efforts made by the SBP and PRI, in collaboration with banks and other stakeholders, to facilitate both overseas Pakistanis and their families back home.
