ISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court, in relation to the rental power projects scam, issued show-cause contempt of court notices to the director general (DG) National Accountability Bureau (NAB) and seven other officers, Express News reported on Friday.

The court also summoned Chairman NAB Fasih Bokhari on September 25.

The court was hearing the case pertaining to review petitions filed against the verdict it gave in the RPP case.

During the hearing, Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry said that if any accused fled the country, everyone from the NAB chairman to the supervisor would be held responsible.

Earlier, the Supreme Court expressed outrage over the lack of action against those involved in the RPP irregularities and berated the NAB representative.

The court directed NAB to conduct investigations against those who were responsible for discrepancies worth billions.

The deputy prosecutor general had told the court that no arrests had been made yet because NAB was "plea bargaining" with the accused.
