Accountability: Action initiated against seven SHOs
SHOs found negligent from work would be sent to the Punjab Constabulary or transferred to other districts.

The Citizen Feedback Cell on Thursday initiated disciplinary action against seven station house officers for allegedly delaying registrations of FIRs filed during August. The cell, headed by Shariq Kamal, the Internal Accountability Division senior superintendent of police, contacted 2,312 people who had filed complaints with the cell till August 15. It was learnt that action had not been taken on 205 of these applications. The station house officers concerned were instructed to take action on the pending complaints. Action on 104 applications is still pending. Kamal has also ordered action against seven station house officers for using delaying tactics or registering complaints under wrong sections of law. They are Shahdara Station House Officer Muhammad Sibtain Shah, Tibbi City Station House Officer Mansoor Ahmed, Shalimar Station House Officer Naveed Azam, Garden Town Station House Officer Aamir Saleem, Hanjarwal Station House Officer Muhammad Ashraf, Data Darbar Station House Officer Muhammad Idrees and Lower Mall Station House Officer Mazharul Hussain. Kamal directed the officials concerned to pay spot visits to police stations to monitor any delay or fault in registration of FIRs. He said SHOs found negligent from work would be sent to the Punjab Constabulary or transferred to other districts.
