The federal government has appointed Dr Wasim Kausar, former National Highways and Motorway Police inspector general, as advisor to the National Accountability Bureau chairman.
Dr Kausar was the founding head of the NHMP. He had trained NHMP personnel along the lines of a British policing strategy, said a press release.
Dr Kausar was awarded the Pride of Performance Award by the prime minister of Pakistan in recognition of the NHMP’s public friendly policing. A PhD from the University of Exeter in the UK, Dr Kauser has master’s degrees in police studies from the University of Exeter and in English literature from the Government College, Lahore. He has written five books on drug control issues.
Dr Kausar has also served as the Central Planning and Training Unit director at the National Police Academy in Islamabad, as commandant at the Police Training College in Sihala and as the National Highways and Motorway Police deputy inspector general.
