Anti-terrorism case: Arguments presented for Lyari fighter’s bail

KARACHI:

The Anti-Terrorism Court-III heard arguments in favour and against granting bail to Sajjad Khatri, who is accused of rioting with armed weapons, unlawful assembly, using criminal force to prevent public servants from doing their duty, attempted murder, ‘mischief by fire or explosive substance’, causing mischief and common intent and under section 7 of the Anti-Terrorism Act.

The court will decide on the bail application on Thursday.

The court also carried out proceedings under sections 87 and 88 of the Code of Criminal Procedure, which regulate issuing a proclamation declaring the accused in a case as absconders.

Twelve men other than Khatri have been accused in the case, including Uzair Baloch and Zafar Baloch. The Anti-Terrorism Court-III issued non-bailable warrants for the men on August 11.
