Three pamphlets pasted in Mattani market by militants are warning people not to join peace militias or they will become the target of militant attacks.
Talking to The Express Tribune, villagers said the pamphlets had been handwritten in Urdu on Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) letterheads. They said this was not like other communication where they just pasted copies of their messages on walls.
Residents reported seeing three separate pamphlets. In one of the letters, militants claimed responsibility for killing a resident named Ahmad and his son Niaz Wali for working against the Taliban and warned his family not to confront militants for the sake of their own safety. In the second pamphlet, police had been warned to abandon a police checkpoint in the market near the house of a man called Altaf Bacha, or they would bomb the post and police would be held responsible for the bloodshed.
The third letter was directly addressed to the residents. “We greatly respect the people of Mattani,” it said, “We warn them to stay away from peace militias otherwise we will claim war between you and the Taliban.” The letter also said that if anyone had complaints, they should call the TTP directly on a number that was listed in the poster.
This is the first time a pamphlet written on a TTP letterhead has appeared in this area. In the past, militants have distributed pamphlets and sent letters in the adjacent villages of Adezai and Darra.
Local elder and ex-nazim Haji Aassad knew that the letters had appeared, but declined to comment on the matter. He said that militants and his villagers were not ‘on a war path’ and had nothing to do with each other.
“TTP Adezai is a spin-off of TTP in Darra Adam Khel which has been active over the past five years, but the presence of TTP here is a new development,” he said.

TTP realy is losers . . . . .
when will people of Pakistan wake to confront this cancer. they should be lined up and executed so as to ensure it does not leave any trail behind
Actually shame on our nation who waited so long to confront the Taliban.as for evidence it should be there or the laws as regards to evidence should be changed in the parliament as a special case as was done in the US.the courts do not make laws they follow them ...well at least they should @naimat khan:
@ looks around for the this is not our war crowd...
Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) letterheads Techno- Taliban Pakistan now has letterheads..... Cool....... I wonder where the Govt's writ is... You reap what you sow....
taliban are now again gaining grounds due to demoralizarion of our agencies by our Judiciary and giving full support to talibans on the name of LACK OF EVEDENCE SHAME TO JUDICIARY
So you still think India is funding TTP?
i think goernment of pakistan dont give a damn about the safety of the people of Pakistan beacuse 70 % of law enforcement agencies are protecting them and their party. If people are killed then what? same people will gain elect them...
This shows that the TTP is now so confident of their control over the areas that they do not hide their identity. This is a writing on the wall for time to come.
I am truly amazed at the increasing audacity of this menace. They provide a number to reach them ! Who needs drones to locate them?
Also, their penetration deep into the streets and cities is spreading alarmingly as evidenced by TTP Adezai nomenclature. They used to be at Country level (Afghani, Pakistani Taliban), then we had provincial offshoots (Punjabi, TTP FATA), then each FATA agency got theirs (TTP North Waziristan, TTP Khyber Agency etc), now we are seeing each CITY getting their chapter (TTP Adezai). Are we heading to a day when we will have TTP chapters in every street (TTP street xx, F-8/1, Islamabad)? God save Pakistan.
