Football: Yasir’s last-gasp effort saves PMC

KARACHI: Mohammad Yasir scored five minutes from time as PMC Athletic FC drew 2-2 against Wohaib FC in their Pakistan Premier Football League (PPFL) match at the PMC Football Stadium in Faisalabad.

Both sides attacked from the word go, which paid dividend as striker Naveed Mumtaz drew first blood for PMC with the match just into its third minute. The goal was followed by an equaliser just three minutes later as Ahmed Waseem stepped up to successfully convert a spot-kick. Despite the quick start, the first-half ended 1-1.

The second-half was brought to life by Usman Ahmed, who put Wohaib FC in front with a 56th-minute strike. However, they failed to hold onto their lead as midfielder Yasir had the final say in the match. The match saw four yellow cards, with three sanctioned to PMC Athletic players and one to Wohaib FC.
