HARIPUR:
A minor girl was sexually assaulted in a remote village of Hattar, police said on Monday.
Hattar Police quoted Salim Haider* as saying that his daughter Maheen* Bibi, 5, went to her paternal uncle’s (the complainant’s real brother’s) house, where her first cousin Tanveer*,14, forcibly took her to a room and assaulted her.
He said that when she reached home, she was terrified and unwell.
The girl was taken to Women and Children Hospital Haripur where the woman medico legal officer in her medical examination report confirmed that the victim had been raped.
Meanwhile, the police have registered a criminal case against the accused under section 377 of the Pakistan Penal Code and arrested him.
