KESC captain Mohammad Essa gave his side the lead in the 44th minute before Abid Ghafoor doubled it in the 71st. Mohammad Rasool sealed the club’s second victory in the league with a strike 12 minutes from time. Essa, a former Pakistan captain, was declared player of the match. With the win, KESC now sit in second position with eight points, behind leaders KRL. Wapda are third with six points.
In other matches, Hayatullah Khan of Muslim FC scored a brace to help his side overcome Afghan FC 2-1. He scored the opening goal only for Himat Khan to equalise before Haytullahs’ late winner in the 87th sealed the result. Elsewhere, PAF defeated Army 1-0 in their match in Rawalpindi. Arif Nawaz scored the only goal of the match. In the last match of the day, HBL and NBP played out a 1-1 draw. HBL’s Mohammad Ibrahim scored in the 13th minute with NBP’s Misbahul Hussain equalising in the 36th.
