More than 10,000 schools destroyed in floods

Sardar Aseff says he will urge authorities for allocation of aid for restoration and reconstruction of schools.

More than 10,000 educational institutions have been destroyed in the ongoing floods.

This was stated by Federal Minister for Education Sardar Aseff Ahmed while talking to Express News on Friday. Aseff said that he has sought a report on flood hit schools across the country, and that the report would be made public.

He said that he would urge the authorities concerned to allocate a significant portion of foreign aid for the restoration and reconstruction of these schools.

Syed A. Mateen | 14 years ago | Reply Some schools were destroyed by Taliban in KP and the rest of schools are destroyed by the floods. While rehabilitating the flood victims, government of Pakistan should also give priority to re-construct the schools so that children should go to the schools as soon as possible and should not lack behind in studies. I fear that if the schools will not be constructed in due course of time, majority of the parents may start sending their children to Madarsas and then we will be having more terrorists ready for suicide bombing. To save the courty from future terrorists, schools should be restored as quickly as possible.
