Youth from Karachi among Kamra attackers
A youth from Karachi’s Landhi neighbourhood was also among those who attacked the PAF airbase in Kamra on August 16, sources said.
Taimur Butt Guddu belonged to a poor and religious family that had shifted to the city from Sialkot in the ‘90s and was living in Landhi. Guddu disappeared a year ago and two months before the Kamra attack, he contacted his family and inquired the well being of his mother and other family members, using someone else’s phone registered in the name of a resident of Bannu.
The person has been identified and investigators are expecting a breakthrough in finding out the mastermind and others involved in the attack and the rest of the network. Guddu was living in Sherpao Colony with his mother and three brothers. He attended school up to primary classes only. His elder brothers is said to be having religious inclination and the young Guddu was also influneced by him.
He was married to the sister of his brother’s wife but his marriage could not last more than a few months, after which he became mentally unstable and showed little interest in life.
Security agencies are questioning members of Guddu’s family in an effort to gather data and reach other persons in his contact.

we have radicalized every citizen of pakistan in past 60 years i.e. textbooks, media, madrassas, saudi funding.............. how to recover :(
@Obvious Obvious it is not. The 911 hijacker Mohammed Atta was highly educated, His masters thesis done in Germany was well regarded. The other hijackers were from rich Saudia Arabia. Bin Laden's father was a billionaire.
Didn't you see the orange arm band on the attacker of Kamra Air Base? This is the sign of the BJP terrorists. That attackers name was Amar Singh and he is a Sikh, not a Muslim youth from Karachi. Just as the great Zaid Hamid sahib.

The point I was trying to make was simple, the kids in Karachi are free of this Mullah spread virus of hatred and destruction and mission of making Pakistan a Taliban Emirate or Caliphate. This infectious malady is common among some 'closetted Talibans' and their kids and I want this disease away far away from the enlightened and courageous anti-taliban and anti-terrorism citizens of Karachi and Sindh generally.

While in power in the garb oligarchic democracy, will the feudal dominated PPP,PML(N) and PML(Q) allow tax reforms to raise more revenue through direct taxes for education and health care. The answer is a big no. The democracy clamoring oligarchs in this country has always been averse to poor people welfare, who have always given them mandate to rule and exploit them?
Alas our youth is so prone to extremism. How would this country survive...........???????????????
As is there are no jobs people with FA/FSc, Bachelors and Masters what is there for people who have high school/primary ? There are no jobs, it is going to get worse. The Government doesn't know anything about job creation and are busy looting. I am not that hopeful about future.

A beautiful comments has been by Christina Lamb in her book "Waiting for Allah". She says that Pakistan is destroying its future by denying its children access to education. The monster of radicalization that is eating up our youth is the result of that denial. If Pakistan wants to develop as democratic and development state, it has come out of that denial and ensure access of children to education. This dream can only be achieved when we slash defense expenditure, get rid of IMF and internal loans, tighten our belts by adopting austerity measures to stand on our own feet and develop autonomous economic system free from outside influences and interference. This is the way forward to save our youth and children from scourge of radicalization.

Lack of Education, Poverty, Wrong interpretation of religion, intolerance and disparity in the society have led us to this point. I wonder what steps are being taken here to counter this extremism/terrorim culture on the root level. Military actions are not the durable solution as the new recruits will keep coming. May righteous sense of things prevail...Amen

His brother showed religious inclination? and how was that, he prayed or read the Quran? so we should not show religious inclination, thats what you are suggesting. What is a religious family??? like, how do ET define a religious family.
A country which "feels" it to be in a state of war ever since its independence, is facing the reality of a poor, uneducated, highly radicalized nation.
A lot of people cannot afford education for children with the result the Madrassas are becoming recruiting ground for innocent souls.
The threat to Pakistan is more from inside then outside and we need to divert our resources from the D's towards the welfare of people.

Most wanted terrorists in the world are well educated. The young fellow is only an arrow. The archer is somewhere sending messages via twitter, YouTube and Face book.
Nothing will work until we educate masses and uplift the lifestyle of common man. Practicing religion is a very good thing but if someone is illiterate like Guddu and struggling with the life from monetary perspective then we should keep reading these kind of serious criminal activities. Look.....at one side we have those who want to destabilize Pakistan ( and unfortunately succeeding in their dirty game ) and at other side those wasted interests have abundance of poor people from within the country to execute their dirty plans.
If govt. don't wake up now and realize the root cause of these issues, we may end up a diluted nation or parted away ( ALLAH forbidden ).
Amazingly, no one talks about population control which is source of all problems .. how many people can you educate if the number is ever increasing?

Education is the key to lifting people out of poverty. Not madrassa education, proper education in a school which will get you a job at the end of school days.
