GUJRAT:

Gunmen shot dead a local leader of the Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid (PML-Q) and his brother in Gujrat on Sunday.

Chaudhry Muhammad Tufail, the PML-Q secretary general for Gujrat, and his brother Chaudhry Ijaz were killed when gunmen, riding on a motorbike, sprayed their car with bullets outside their residence in Sapal Colony and fled the scene unchallenged.

Amir Nadeem, a son of Chaudhry Tufail, lodged a case with the Civil Lines police station against Ali Shah, Zaigham Shah and their three unnamed accomplices.

Police were not clear about the motives for the double murders.

DPO, Raja Basharat, has assured the bereaved family that the police have found clues and that the culprits would be arrested soon.
