Bilateral talks: ‘Pakistan playing on Indian wicket’

LAHORE:

“Pakistan is playing on the Indian wicket and ignoring its own vital national interests,” Jamaat-i-Islami Ameer Syed Munawar Hasan said on Sunday.

Reacting to the Indian foreign minister’s visit to Pakistan, Hasan said that Pakistani authorities did not once mention the Kashmir issue and alleged violation of the Indus Basin Water Treaty in the current talks.

The Indian foreign minister, he said, continued dictation on bringing the Mumbai attack culprits to the surface.

In a statement issued on Sunday, Hasan said that the Kashmir issue had been put on the back burner.

“The Kashmir issue is a core issue between the two countries and important for the people of Pakistan and Kashmir. Peace in the region is impossible without a solution of the Kashmir issue,” he said.

Syed Munawar should present alternative policy plan to the present policy.Just criticizing all the time is of no value. Can he tell us what is the other choice under the present circumstances? that will be helpful.

Pakistan's core issue at this moment is religious and sectarian fanatics who are destroying Pakistani society.
