Monsoon: New road in Pindi breaks apart

RAWALPINDI: Rains have exposed the poor quality of workmanship and materials used on the recently completed 5th Road in Rawalpindi. The road that connects Rehmanabad to Holy Family Hospital was made at a cost of Rs150 million. Cracks and ditches have appeared in a number of places on the road, with rainwater accumulating in them. “Someone coming to the area would definitely think that this road was made years ago,” said Ashfaq Ahmed, a resident of the area. He and a number of other residents appealed to Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif to take notice of the situation and order an investigation into the project.
