Where is Sepoy Maqbool Husain now?

Published: September 9, 2012

ISLAMABAD: Sepoy Maqbool Husain of the Azad Kashmir Regiment was a prisoner of war in India for 40 years (1965-2005). He suffered physically, mentally and emotionally while in Indian captivity before returning to Pakistan in September 2005 after an accord between the two countries on exchange of prisoners.

His story has generated some questions in my mind: where is Sepoy Maqbool Husain now? Is he being looked after? The families of martyred soldiers are looked after by the Pakistan Army. Has he been taken care of in a similar manner? Has he been recommended for any military award? Will the ISPR please inform the nation about the fate of Sepoy Maqbool Hussain?

The Express Tribune has the resources and the gumption to look into this and let the readers know , any good paper with a good reputation will do investigative work for the sack of the public and I expect them to come up with some answer. .And where are those trolls now and see what their country has done to a POW and kept him for 40 years , it is just uncalled for in any civilized country.
