Traffic violations: Transporters to go on strike

Transporters to go on strike in Rawalpindi for indefinite period against traffic police’s aggression.

RAWALPINDI: Transporters in Rawalpindi will go on an indefinite strike against “heavy fines” from Monday.

This was announced by Pakistan Transport Welfare Association President Raja Ghulam Abbas at a press conference at Pirwadhai bus stand on Saturday. Abbas said that transporters would go on strike in Rawalpindi for indefinite period against traffic police’s “aggression”. He said that the traffic police is imposing heavy fines of Rs500, Rs750 and Rs1,000 on minor violations, which is unacceptable.
