Water tax: Sept 15 deadline for payment

Those who failed to pay the bills by September 15 would face legal action, says PIDA spokesman.

FAISALABAD: The Punjab Irrigation and Drainage Authority (PIDA) has given farmers’ organisations till September 15 to pay Rs144.7 million outstanding water bills, said a PIDA spokesman on Friday. He said most of the defaulters were in LCC (East and West Circles) in Faisalabad and in CPRC in Dera Ghazi Khan and Zahawal Nagar. He said there would be no more extensions in the deadline and those who failed to pay the bills by September 15 would face legal action. He said the PIDA had served multiples notices on these defaulters.
