KARACHI:
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) may not be able to facilitate the Pakistan Cricket Board’s (PCB) request to add Mohali as a venue for their eagerly awaited tour of India later this year.
According to an official close to the BCCI’s senior management, tentative venues have already been announced for the historic series and the board was finding it hard to accommodate a change. As per the initial plan, Pakistan are scheduled to play three One-Day Internationals (ODIs) and two Twenty20s on the tour that will break the deadlock between the two countries who have not played a bilateral series since 2007.
The BCCI announced Bangalore, Chennai, Ahmedabad, Kolkata and Delhi as the venues when it extended the invitation to the PCB.
“The board has almost finalised the venues,” the official told The Express Tribune. “It is difficult for us to rearrange our initial plans.”
Meanwhile, an official of the BCCI’s media department said the senior management has not reached any conclusion on the issue.
“The matter is still under discussion. The BCCI might take a few days to reach a final decision but it hasn’t finalised anything yet.”

@moonjely sony: thanks for the hospitality brother
I am afraid the Hindu Terrorists will target the Pakistani cricketers and put the blame on a shadowy group. Its better not to play Pakistan, we are not going to defeat them with this current side anyways.
Pakistan should focus more on the away tour to South Africa instead of these micky mouse games with India. Victory in South Africa will mean a lot to Pakistan Cricket.
better watch it on television, don<t come and create problems in India. Pakistani team is invited to India, that,s more than enough.
@Just Manners: Okay, if you say so.
After acceptance of venues, next PCB should suggest the outcome of results. One day series to Indians and T20 for Pakistan.
@Vikas: dude its a cricket match. Clenching fists at all sundry issues is a bit comical. Take it easy man .......
@Raw is War:
It is closer to Pakistan thus we can go and watch the match as opposed to Banglore, Chennai and Kolkata.
It is not a matter of whether Pakistan would play or not if it is denied the venue of Mohali. It is just pressing for its preference without however intending to even think of cancelling the tour. Any advice by Indians or Pakistanis to cancel the tour if Pakistan is denied playing at Mohali is, therefore, irrelevant.
what's great about mohali?
come on Pakistan, no choice , just play or cancel the tour.zaka can not cancel the tour, just play where India says.
If Pakisn does not get access to Mohali we must cancel the tour of India. This is against Pakistan's gaheriat (honour).
how come this piece of information became worthy of a national news?
Good decision. Mohali is very small. these games are big and should be held in bigger stadia.
@Vikas: This is cricket. Take it easy!
ET, why every story has to be accompanied by a photo. First of all, the accompanied photo is not that of Mohali Stadium, and secondly the Sikhs in the photo are photo-shopped. Mechanical turbans, mechanical physiques, Muslim look alike their supervisor. Are you kidding the readers?
No need to accept any recommendations of PCB. If they have any problems, they may not tour.
@Raj: yup
is it because of easy access for visiting Pakistani fans?
