In a press conference in Karachi, PML-F party members Imtiaz Sheikh and Mujeeb Pirzada said that in a meeting with the Pir Pagara, the party decided to resign from the provincial government since the PPP failed to address their grievances against the Sindh Local Government Ordinance.
The ordinance, which was signed by Sindh Governor Dr Ishratul Ibad, brings into place a new system called the Peoples Metropolitan Corporation 2012.
The PML-F ministers have already submitted their resignations to Pir Pagara.
The Awami National Party (ANP) also called back its only minister in the Sindh government earlier in the day and boycotted the National Assembly session.
Minister Ameer Nawab submitted his resignation to Sindh Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah who rejected it in hopes of wooing back ANP.

There is no rationale for the dissidents to oppose the Local government system. (every one has their vested interest). Now there is a strike call from Nationalists against the system on 13th Sep. The Govt., has to come out with the details of the Ordinance to know the people about its justifications, legitimacy and benefits of the LG system to counter the opposition and also to justify their action.( although within the time frame the ordinance has to be ratified in the Assembly. It is because of LG system that power has been transferred to the people at grass root level. Local Government system is more beneficial for the development as people of Sindh has already witnessed it.
@Sindhi_Pakistani: You have to realise one thing my friend You can not blame a democratically elected party to be in power, IT'S THERE RIGHT TO BE IN POWER BECAUSE THEY HAVE BEEN ELECTED BY THERE VOTERS!
@Sindhi_Pakistani: My friend to bring a change you got to be part of the system you can not sit out out side and criticise all day along and try to gain popularity just like what imran khan is currently doing. Get a grip mate! in MQM name me one wadeyra or Choudhry, don't you think they had an option of Including these chimpanzees?? They could have done what imran khan is doing today. Lastly if MQM was not part of the system how would have they changed Karachi and proven there credibility? Built those bridges fly overs and laid those pipe lines?? In simple words to change the system you have to be part of the system and the leading example is Mr. Mustafa Kamal!
ANP was accomodated above its place because PPP wanted to keep check on MQM...now the story is different. For PPP, ANP has served its purpose its of no use now
As ex prime minister said to Arab regime "Zero multiply by zero the answer will be zero " ANP & PML function departure will not effect Sindh other than a nuisance value and may create law and order problem in banaras chowk or patthan colony landhi or in liari They should wait for next election and show their strength and populace vote bank MQM and PPP are on the right track, I hope mustafa Kamal is back on driving seat and change again the city into model for all communities
Mr Zardari must have already anticipated this and knows what to do...few full brief cases will be enough to solve this.
98% of Sindh's elected representative decided in support of a System. 2 % are Opposing the Change and threatening resignation. OoooOOOooo I'm Scared.
@Sindhi_Pakistani: Sindhi bhai what is the aspiration of the people of Sindh? Outdated commissioner system is serving best for the people of Sindh....in last four years any development project has been done and if you call the commissioner system is best so tell me the effectiveness of the non elected representative to solve your problem and he does not belong to common class of people. I think there is a limit of hate and be enemy of your own nation and you want your own nation not to flourish because your jagirdari will be in trouble...........do not be blind folded in ethinicity first you are muslim and then you are sindhi, punjabi, baloch, pathan and mohair.............
PMLF and Q were part of Musharraf government and supported the system back then but have a problem with it now because PPP did it. Do they think the people of Sindh are fools?
This is why we vote for PPP and MQM and not these establishment parties who keep changing their stances.
@Landhi wala:
bro, actions speak louder than words. Track record of MQM suggest quite different story. If waderas and chaudheris are so bad, then why on earth, MQM is always in power with them. MQM SUPPORTED Mushraf Govt with waderas/chaudheris of PMLQ and now with PPP. If you really believe in change, and good democratic norms, then why cant you live without power. Why you support waderas and chaudheries.
Take a stand. This Ordinance is dividing Sindh.Resign from Center also
Great Job, we are proud of you PMLF and ANP. People of Sindh will never allow PPP-MQM to impose any system against the aspirations of people. PPP wants to appease MQM for the sake of power but they are playing against the very interests of Sindh. As a democratic forces, they should have respected the feelings of majority before bringing in any LG system but they are bent on dividing people of Sindh through such rogue system. We want a fair, judicious and people friendly local govt system, we are not against Local bodies but we are against any system which grabs our fundamental right over our cities.
Crybabies.
We want mustafa kamal back at any cost wether whole of Pakistan goes against Sir Mustafa Kamal! The recent example of what wonders MQM can do is how Dr. ishrat ul ibad went out of way for the sailor of faisalabad who got kidnapped by the Somalian pirates. It had nothing to do with sindh or Karachi this really shows MQM Is the most educated and organised democratic party in Pakistan. This proofs how education can change ones mentality. We Don't need no wadeyraas or choudhries to rule our country!
nice stance by PML-F, it would better, if it were taken earlier..
PML F and PML N are going to have an electoral alliance .
This will excellent for peace and tranquility in Karachi and Sindh
Who cares? The PPP and MQM dominate Sindh's politics, as these other mediocre parties are nothing but unnecessary dressing on an already elaborate cake. The PPP and MQM not only make two thirds majority, but they exceed it ten times. Why is this even becoming a news story?
As clement of country, its drops of rain how can catch it again so Rehman baba magic failed here because it not mqm.
oho!! What a loss, what will happen now?
