Two children were found killed in Ahmadpur East on Thursday.
Police said the body of a 10-year-old boy was found lying in a plot near his house in Ghauspur village. They said he had been missing since Wednesday after he went out to play with some children from the neighbourhood.
His father accused eight men, with whom he had had a property dispute, of kidnap, rape and murder. He said one of the children his son had been playing with told them that he had left with some men. He said they found the child’s body lying in the plot after looking for him for hours. He said his throat had been cut and he had bruises all over his body.
Saddar Station House Officer Iqbal Kharal told The Express Tribune that the police were waiting for the post-mortem examination report to identify if rape had been committed.
In another incident, the family of a seven-year-old boy, who was also found killed, staged a protest in front of the rural health centre demanding a post-mortem examination. The protesters blocked the KLP Road leading to the National Highway and burnt tyres.
The protesters dispersed after Zahirpir Superintendent of Police Shiraz Nazeer assured them that a post-mortem examination will be conducted without further delay.
Station House Officer Haji Ashraf told The Tribune that an FIR was registered against unidentified men.
The boy’s parents said that their son had gone missing since Thursday afternoon. They said at 7:30pm, they received a letter from an unidentified sender which said that their son’s body was lying under a mango tree near their house.
The father accused some relatives he had a dispute with of rape and murder. They said when they took the body to a rural health centre in Zahirpir for a post-mortem examination, the doctors on duty, did not cooperate with them.
