Torkham border: Govt to install biometric system
PESHAWAR:
In an attempt to crack down on cross-border movement of terrorists a biometric immigration system will be installed at the Pak-Afghan border at Torkham, next week. The provincial government of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa had earlier forwarded its recommendations seeking special steps for elimination of terrorism. As a result the Interior ministry had decided to introduce the biometric system on Pak-Afghan border crossings at Chaman and Torkham. The system, once operational, will regulate the flow of migrants between the two countries and will allow law enforcement officials to track wanted terrorists.
