Democratic rights: PML-Q leader challenges chief’s notice

PESHAWAR: Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid (PML-Q) MNA Humayun Saifullah Khan has challenged the notice issued to him by his party chief.  It had been issued by PML-Q’s Chief Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain to Khan for violating party discipline when he did not cast his vote in favour of the prime minister during the recent elections. Khan’s Counsel Imtiaz Ali told a division bench in court that casting a vote to a person of choice was everyone’s basic right and Khan did not violate party discipline. The court later accepted the writ petition filed by Khan’s counsel and adjourned the case until its next hearing.
