SUKKUR:

We are joining the Pakistan Peoples Party, said Sardar Ali Gohar Mahar at a press conference with his brothers, MNA Faryal Talpur, Chief Minister Qaim Ali Shah and other member of the Mahar group on Wednesday.

“I want everyone to know that we are joining them because seats are not important to us, it is the family relationships that really count. My family has been in politics since 1947. We believe in clean politics and believe in President Asif Ali Zardari’s vision.” He added that they were prepared to forget the differences and start afresh.

He added that the Mahars and the Bhuttos went way back, and remembered the time Benazir Bhutto visited Ghotki and staged a protest at Kamoon Shaheed against the Kalabagh Dam.

While speaking to the media, Talpur said that the Mahar brothers had made the right decision by joining the party. She added that her brother wanted to have all the respectable families in the province to join the party as it would be beneficial for the country. Responding to a question about the missing Dharejo brothers, the chief minister said that nobody in the party had any reservations about the Mahars.

MNA Mian Abdul Haq alias Mian Mitho, Sardar Rahim Bux Bozdar were also there.
