During the meeting, Interior Minister Rehman Malik was briefed about the security situation of Pakistan.
The Director General (DG) of FIA was also directed to submit a list of "most wanted persons" to the Interior Ministry as well as forming a task force to combat human smuggling and trafficking on the Iran-Afghanistan border.
The briefing revealed evidence proving links between Laskhar-e-Janghvi (LeJ) and Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), who were plotting against the country particularly in Mastung where the Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA) was also said to be involved in spreading terrorism.
It was decided during the meeting that action would be taken against militant camps in Mastung.
A complete investigation was ordered regarding LeJ leader Malik Ishaq's visits abroad.
The federal government also directed the Punjab government to take action against banned outfits in the province. In central Punjab, Harkat-al-Ansar and Asmat-e-Muawiya were identified as some of the militant outfits involved in terrorist activities, particularly the killings of the Shias.
Ministry of Interior also asked Home Secretaries of Sindh and Balochistan to monitor the entry and exit points of Karachi and Quetta to avoid further acts of terrorism in these two cities.
DG IB was directed to submit a comprehensive report based on the available intelligence about the recent wave of sectarian violence, and also to provide real time intelligence to Frontier Corps and police to counter the recent wave of sectarianism in Quetta.
Muharram security
Security during Muharram was also reviewed and Secretary Interior was directed to hold a preliminary meeting with all the Home Secretaries, IGs and intelligence agencies to work out a security plan for the entire country during Muharram.
Additional Chief Secretary FATA was directed to take special measures in Parachinar to avoid any untoward incident.

The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) and Intelligence Bureau (IB) were directed to take action against banned terrorist outfits in the country, during an intelligence briefing on Tuesday, reported Express News. And before giving the directions were officials of these organizations sitting on their backs and playing cards???
@syed baqar ahsan: "some of us were used having open excess in our affairs."
Could you please help us point as to who they are. We will be very grateful.
@Fed Up Indian: please contact Americans, they are your friends, now you don't or need any other enemy. They are the ones who have arranged Mumbai bloodshed and some of us were used having open excess in our affairs.
Mr Malik you cannot succeed until these all agencies and civil police are cleaned from sect high purs, this is the only dilemma to peace in our country.Only top tiers of command have to behave neutral and order them to coordinate in national interest in practical shape.Mostly they are fond of lip service and lacks initiative.Tell them to be honest to special funds as well.
@raza: May I suggest complicity?
The issue is our leadership is IMPOTENT , as a result we cannot defeat the terrorists
Its too early Malik Sb! Let the people of Pakistan bleed little more in the hands of these groups!
Is it again all talk, or they actually going to do something !!!
Pakistan has a unique definition of ‘banned’. Once banned, nothing happens to the organization. They continue to collect funds, take our rallies, and in some cases, kill with impunity. None of their members or leaders get arrested. Sometimes they change their name, and the agencies turn a blind eye. The next time I am caught doing a crime, I’ll just change my name from ‘Karella’ to ‘ Mooli’. The judge will throw out the case, as I will not be the same person who committed the original crime. Ridiculous…
The portrate is approapriate. Pointing the finger tells the tale. The minister of Dis-Information is looking quite dangerous.
Better late than never. No matter what you do, please make sure you have enough evidence that their friends in SC do not release them easily. Unless all the institutions become tough and united against the terrorists nothing can be done about this cancer.
I don't think so Mr. Rehman Malik is going to direct them to step ahead against Militant,he is just murmuring. What Pakistan has done so far though knowingly that TTP is responsible for bad plights of Pakistan.hundred of thousand of Innocents has been buzzed but only one reponse from Government we are pondering over it and problem will be resolve soon.
It is (has been) in your interest to do a crackdown and charge them with murders and terrorism and line them up in courts and keep doing it even though the courts are keep releasing them. But still why you have not done much of it? laziness? ineptness?
PPP has failed miserably failed to implement law and order in the country. Now we are at the edge and you have come up to take a action against the band organisations who are responsible for all this Blood shed or this is a Noora kushti for PPP voters.
Unfortunately because Malik is involved you can bet that nothing is going to happen.
Its easy to talk, it takes courage to act and that quality is sadly missing.
@Mohammad Ali Siddiqui: The reason failing to implememt law and order is that Mr Mailk is himself a convicted, Its a strange country which rewards convicted and criminals...
And chief justice will take notice of it and issue contempt of court notice to Mr. Malik. He would cross all limits to protect his brothers in faith.
Dear Mr. Rehman Malik:
Four and half years after becoming the Chief of Ministry of Interior now you are directing FIA and IB to take action against the banned out fits?
Do you have any statistics that how many people have been killed, injured and became permanently disable due to terrorists acts in Pakistan?
Have you done any survey in which you would have counted that how many women had become widow, how many children had became orphans and how many sisters have lost thier brothers?
This is the height of intentional criminal negligence.
Would you like agree to it, while your political party PPP would like to govern the country once again and you despite all odds, you will again be awarded a party ticket after your poor performance.
Dare you pick up your most beloved "social worker:.
Please also take some action against Lashkar-e-Taiba and Jaish-e-Mohammad, you already have most of the evidence needed to implicate them.
