In a speech at the party’s International Secretariat in London, Hussain said that the country’s major political parties should first work on saving the country from the danger it is in and then engaging in politics.
“If there is no Pakistan, then there is nothing else, no politics, estates or someone’s kingdom,” Hussain said.
Hussain also hit out at political parties for not speaking out on the killing of innocent people, and only being busy in flinging mud at each other for gaining power.
Hussain said that at a time like this, people should think about whether they want to fight or to forget all differences, unite and oppose terrorism.
With their unity, Hussain said, they should force law enforcement agencies and the government to support the oppressed.
Hussain said that he could not solely help the country, and he invited people of all faiths, sects and schools of thought to unite and support him.
“We can stop this system of oppression and establish justice,” Hussain said.
The party chief said that the Muttahida Qaumi Movement wanted a system of justice where people of all religions and schools of thoughts would have equal rights and no one would be dealt with unfairly and one that would end the oppression of women and grant them equal rights.
Hussain has reiterated these issues several times in the past two weeks, and highlighted the massacre of Shias throughout Pakistan in a number of targeted attacks.
However his criticism of political parties may stem from the frustration his party has felt towards the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) for dragging its feet on the issue of a local government system.

Don't mislead people Altaf, you have to pay for what you are doing to innocent people just for your influence! And also don't secretly communicate to us that are so strong to break our beloved country. You can't!
Come back to Pakistan and then make these comments, Altaf. Don't be an armchair critic from 10,000 km away. You are not Pakistani anyway.
wait.. what? why in the world a British National worried about Pakistan :s ?
Politicians have two main hobbies (1) mudslinging and(2) milking the nation. In absence of them politics will be boring thus increasing unemployment.
@Mj: that my friend, is really sad.
Mudslinging, unethical opportunity grabbing, power and money at all costs, bigotry, deceitfulness and asking to agree with me (my Islam or Kafir attitude) or disappear from the face of the earth, zero tolerance and hero worshiping are a few ills that have been cancer-ed into our blood and society not to mention white lies are considered as truth and have become part of our culture. Thank you Altaf Bhai for voicing some sane appeals, you are a real patriot. Some ask to return but I would say not to as Pakistan won't be able to hear your sane voices if you were in Pakistan.
Cutie Pie !
He will do nothing more than pointing the obvious. What has MQM done to improve the situation in karachi besides just talking?Behind close doors they are all the same.PPP,MQM and ANP each claim that the others are responsible for the bloodshed in karachi but have been in govt together. This speaks of their priorities.
LOL ppl now liking Altaf easy to sit outside the pak and talk. May I remind ppl mqm is still in govt since musharraf time and shall I remind ppl of all the bloodshed happening in karachi daily.
Mqm can bring the positive change in the whole pakistan..i appeal the people of punjab sindh balochistan and KP please give Mqm one chance and i promise Mqm will bring prosperity in Pakistan.
Altaf Bhai, many a times previously also I have commented that your views are excellent and viable. You seem to be bold and courageous enough to say what you feel. However the biggest problem with you is inconsistency in your stand point. In the past also many a times you took very good stand but then bowed to the pressure of extremists or to other political pundits. All citizens of Pakistan have mind and they evaluate their leaders critically. My advice to you would be to create consistency in your stand point. On one side you are firing salvos on all political parties to save Pakistan while same time engaging with PP for Local Government matters where MQM sees its political advantage. So what is this. To an ordinary Pakistani it looks like double standard.
It's strange but I've been Getting a positive vibe from this dude for the last few days.
it is easy to give statements from abroad..
I am beginning to like this guy.
