He added that besides the KESC, the KESC KTPS Residential Complex in Karachi was also a major defaulter with Rs36 million in outstanding dues.
The KESC has disputed its outstanding dues with the SSGC, owning up to only bills worth Rs28 billion.
Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) MNA Shireen Arshad Khan had inquired about the names and addresses of companies and individuals whose gas dues were more than Rs10 million.
Responding to a question posed by MNA Shagufta Sadiq regarding whether there was a ban on the installation of CNG kits, Dr Hussain said that the government, as per approval of the CEC, has imposed a complete ban on company fitted CNG kits in locally manufactured vehicles.
The minister also conceded that gas sale price for textile, commercial, power, CNG, cement and other industrial consumers included a cross-subsidy.
