Gunned down: Tribal elder killed outside mosque

PESHAWAR: A 70-year- old tribal elder from Mohmand Agency was killed on Saturday in New Garhi Bakhsi Pul, in the jurisdiction area of Khazana police station.

Haji Niaz Muhammad, the son of the deceased Malik Azad Khan, lodged an FIR with Khazana police stating that his father went to the mosque in the afternoon to offer prayers.

When he came out of the mosque, two men on a motorcycle opened fire on him, killing him on the spot. He was rushed to the Lady Reading Hospital where doctors pronounced him dead. Police said that an FIR had been registered and they are investigating the matter.
