A man was sentenced to life imprisonment in a murder case on Saturday. Noor Zaman was proven guilty of killing Rasool Bux in Model Colony.
Additional District and Sessions Judge (East) Tariq Mehmood Khoso announced the verdict after recording evidence and final arguments from both sides. The court also imposed a fine of Rs 50,000. In case of default, the convict will undergo additional six months in prison.
Zaman was also ordered to pay a compensation of Rs300,000 to the heirs.
The accused had fatally injured Bux with a club over a petty issue. A case (92/2006) under Section 302 of the Pakistan Penal Code was registered on the complaint of victim’s brother. Zaman was brought to the court on Saturday by the jail authorities. After the verdict, the court remanded him back to the prison along with the conviction warrants to serve out the remainder of his sentence.
