ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Raja Pervaiz Ashraf directed Chief Secretary Balochistan Babar Yaqoob Fateh Muhammad to implement the Supreme Court orders regarding the law and order in the province.

Meeting with the chief secretary Balochistan at Prime Minister House on Saturday, he discussed the situation in Balochistan with special reference to the deteriorating security situation.

The chief secretary Balochistan informed the prime minister of all the steps taken by the provincial government to improve the current state of affairs.

Ashraf said that the federal government will provide assistance to the Balochistan government and directed Muhammad to take all the required steps to ensure safety so much so that the people can feel the difference in their daily lives, before directing that the orders of SC on Balochistan be implemented in letter and in spirit.

The government, despite a number of steps taken, has failed to arrest the violence in the troubled province.

Wow.I always thought that orders of Supreme Court were binding and had to be implemented by all departments, functionaries and entities.
I guess under PPP rule, PM has to authorise implementation.
