Murderous mistrust: Teenage girl killed for possessing cell phone

Brother opened fire on his sister, after a cellphone been spotted in her possession.

An 18-year old girl was killed by her brother for possessing a cell phone in Shor Kot area of DI Khan, police said.


An official of the Saddar police station told The Express Tribune that Muhammad Aslam lodged an FIR under section 302 Pakistan Penal Code (PPC) against his own son, Malik Ameer, stating that his daughter Kaneza Bibi was washing dishes when her brother spotted a cell-phone invoking suspicion that the phone was given to the girl by someone who she had an illicit relationship with.

Ameer opened fire on his sister with a 30-bore pistol, which killed her immediately. The accused escaped arrest by fleeing from the site. Police have started investigations.
