KARACHI:

Conflicts between various federations and sports bodies look set to mar the 32nd National Games after the Punjab Olympic Association (PbOA) confirmed that the event will take place even if the Pakistan Sports Board (PSB) refuses to endorse it.

“The 32nd National Games will be held from October 16 to 22 in Lahore in collaboration with the Punjab government which will also provide financial assistance,” said the PbOA. “It is clarified that the Punjab Olympic Association has not received any message from the PSB confirming if they are part of the National Games or not. Even if the PSB isn’t part of the National Games, the event will still be held at the scheduled time.”
