QUETTA: A Lahore-bound Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) made an emergency landing in Quetta on Friday due to technical problems.

PIA’s flight PK 206, with 160 passengers on board, was en route to Lahore from Kuwait when it underwent technical glitches and resultantly made an emergency landing at Quetta airport.

It was earlier reported that almost a third of PIA flights have suffered delays this year due to technical and administrative reasons, dealing a severe blow to the national flag carrier’s business.

More than 4,345 of PIA’s 12,184 flights were delayed due to various faults in this year’s first three months, the National Assembly was told on July 6.

Thanks God everything went well. God forbid, if something had gone wrong, Quetta hospitals were not in position to handle such a catastrophe. Civil administration doesn't have ambulances (they just have luxury Prado’s) to cater for over hundred people.
