English country Hampshire have expressed their interest in signing Pakistan all-rounder Shahid Afridi for the Champions League Twenty20. They are eying the fiery cricketer who could not feature for them in the Friends Life T20 tournament due to issues in obtaining a visa.
The rules of the tournament, however, state that a player must be registered in the qualifying period and does not necessarily need to have made an appearance. This has paved a way for Hampshire to make a move for Afridi. The club confirmed to ESPNcricinfo that he was satisfactorily registered in order to sign him for the Champions League.
