Domestic Dispute: Man sets himself on fire

FAISALABAD: A man attempted to set himself on fire on Wednesday in the Ghulam Muhammadabad. A neighbour, Muhammad Aslam, told The Express Tribune that Muhammad Shafique, a dental technician who worked at a private clinic, had told them that his wife had started living at her parents’ house with his three children since Eid. “I asked her to return but she refused. She did not let me meet my children either,” he reportedly told neighbours. Muhammad Iqbal, another neighbour, said, “We tried to rescue him but he did not let us. He said he was ‘teaching his wife a lesson.’” “We called Rescue 1122 and shifted him to the Burn Unit of the Allied Hospital in a very bad shape and critical conditions”, Iqbal added. Dr Muhammad Ahmad said Shafique’s condition was critical with over 80 per cent of his body suffering burn wounds.
