The main suspect behind Pashto singer Ghazala Javed and her father’s murder was arrested in a raid in Hindku Daman village on Wednesday afternoon.
Jehangir, who was the ex-husband of Javed, was arrested in an operation led by City DSP Haji Imtiaz and SHA Shah Qabool. “When she applied for a divorce she got it,” Jehangir said, adding “Ending her relationship with me was her right.” He said he would face trial and prove his innocence in court.
The singer and her father were killed in Shah Qabool area on June 18 by unidentified assailants. The two were leaving a beauty parlour and were on their way to a musical event when they were shot.
