Ahmadinejad expected to visit Pakistan

Official sources said the Iranian president decided to personally visit the flood affected areas of Pakistan.

Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad is expected to visit the flood-hit areas of Pakistan to witness the impact of the natural disaster that has engulfed Iran's eastern neighbour.

IRNA news agency has quoted official sources as saying that the Iranian president has decided to personally visit the affected areas to decide how to help the flood victims. The date for Ahmadinejad's visit is yet to be decided.

One of the worst natural disasters in Pakistan's history, the floods triggered by monsoon rains have affected 20 million people and killed more than 1,600 people across the country.

They have done much more harm than the aid (most of which was spent on arms or was wasted). We need to build relations with all of our neighbors. Iran is an old friend who came to our rescue in 1972-73 when the IMF turned us down. Welcome Mr. President

A wastage of resources such as helicopters to ferry the President around the country, all the security and the protocol that will be wasted.. all the flood victims who will be frisked and have to go through security checks so that they can stand around and look grateful as mr president walks around!
