Qadir alias Dakait case: Inquiry officer appears in court

Qadir is accused of being involved in an attack on the police that resulted in the death of an officer in 2009

KARACHI: The Anti-Terrorism Court III heard from the investigating officer at the trial proceedings of Qadir alias Dakait on Monday. He is accused of being involved in an attack on the police that resulted in the death of an officer in 2009 within the Baghdadi police station precincts. The special public prosecutor closed his side of the case. At the next hearing, scheduled for August 29, Qadir will give his statement to the court. He is facing multiple charges, including those of murder and using explosives and common intent, under the Pakistan Penal Code’s sections 3 and 4 of the Explosives Act and under section 7 of the Anti-Terrorism Act. Sheraz, Umar Kutchi Rashid Rekha, Abdul Jabbar alias Jhengu, Wahid, Shamshad and Shahid alias Bizenjo, are also named in the FIR but are being treated as fugitive.
