Monsoon rains: Water level improves in key dams

The Swat River was also flowing in low flood at Charsadda Road Bridge while other main rivers were flowing normal.

Though the water levels in key reservoirs are still below optimum, and some rivers are still flowing in low flood, the current monsoon season comes with a flicker of hope. The Chenab River on Sunday was flowing in low flood with rising trend in Khanki – Qadirabad whereas the Kabul River was in low flood at Warsak and in medium flood at Nowshera.


The Swat River was also flowing in low flood at Charsadda Road Bridge while other main rivers were flowing normal. Tarbela and Mangla Dams were 30.06 feet and 64.35 feet below their respective maximum conservation levels. However, the water level in Tarbela Dam has recorded an increase of 13 feet during the last two days.

According to the Flood Forecasting Division, water level in the dam was recorded at 1519.94 feet, while water inflow stood at 2,61,100 cusecs and discharge at 1,10,000 cusecs.
