Safety measures: Ensuring safe commute to Kaghan valley

MANSEHRA:

The district administration Mansehra has made fool-proof arrangements for ensuring safe commute of locals of Gilgit-Baltistan (G-B) and tourists coming to Kaghan valley.

This was stated by a senior official of the district administration while talking to media men here on Sunday.

To this effect, the administration has established three new checkpoints from Naran up to Gilgit’s border, besides ensuring round-the-clock police patrolling. There is no ban on road travel between Mansehra and Gilgit, he added, saying that the administration has devised a plan to facilitate passenger vehicles crossing the Gilgit border. However, he disclosed that the Gilgit administration has not agreed to the plan.

He said that for ensuring secure commute between Kohistan and the Gilgit border on the Karakoram Highway, the provincial government was going to recruit 150 retired army men from August 28.
