Get the look: Punk chic

Bollywood actor Deepike Padukone sizzled at the screening of Shirin Farhad Ki Toh Nikal Padi. The actor went for sultry waves and a rocker chick inspired outfit at the media event of the Boman Irani and Farah Khan starrer.

Makeup

The actor knows the rule of third well. She kept her eyes almost make-up free and brought the focus to her lips by wearing a ruby red lip colour. One can find red in almost all the make-up brands available under the sun but our favourite one has to be Mac’s Russian Red colour which you can find for approximately Rs2,500 at Ebco.

Accessories

A statement necklace/chain can jazz up even the most boring attire. The actor chose this silver neck treat that goes with her overall rock chick look. We love how Deepika’s clutch actually looks like a file. The actor’s ensemble is the love child of grunginess and sophistication. Look for statement pieces at Mantra in both gold and silver tones for not more than Rs2,000. A wide range of ethnic necklaces are also available at Mango (our favourite has to be the owl) for not more than Rs3,000.  You can find similar shimmery block heels and crocodile skin black clutch at any high-street brand that is locally available.

Out fit

Even though nobody has ever spoken highly of the baby blue and black combination, Deepika has still made it work. The actor is wearing distressed skinny washed out blue jeans with a white T-shirt and black jacket and looking like a million dollars even in this semi-casual attire. Look for the perfect jeans for as cheap as Rs500 in Zainab Market or go for a steeper option by rummaging through the racks of Debenhams and Next. You can also find crisply tailored jackets for Rs5,000 — Rs7,000 at Mango.

Hair

Deepika’s chocolate brown bad girl waves make us want to howl (in envy!) like a lonely hilltop wolf. The actor knows how to keep the perfect balance between the edgy and the sharp side of fashion. She let her messy wavy hair down but donned a crisply tailored jacket to avoid looking like a scarecrow. To get this look wet your hair and make loose braids before going to sleep. Undo the braids in the morning, run your fingers through your hair and add some serum for shine and frizz control. Get a killer hair stylist for those caramel highlights!
