Higher education: University to offer Sufism classes
The first batch of students of the International Sufism and Peace University at Bhit Shah will start their studies from October. The temporary location for the classes will be at the Government High School, Bhit Shah, announced officials on Thursday.
Matiari’s deputy commissioner Shahid Laghari, Sindh University vice chancellor Dr Nazir A Mughal and others were present on the occasion.
The Sindh University will organise a ceremony in the new university’s honour on August 29.
The university will initially offer classes in Sufi Thought and Practice, Mystic Poetry and South Asian Arts.

If this is Sufism then I ll become a Hindu....seriously???

Another waste of the taxpayers rupee. What job prospects does said graduate have? What organization will employ a graduate of sufi studies? No empowerment shall be delivered through this education and no benefit will be offered to employers. the workforce remains as it is, largely useless.
Making pretty girls dance so men can drool over them is not Sufism.
True Sufism involves complete submission to the Shariat. Any acts done which are contrary to the Islamic law and moral code is not Sufism.
The way of the Sufis should not be distorted to fit a liberal-leftist version of watered-down Islam.
It is great to see that Pakistani education system is initiating steps to promote a heritage worth exploring and and a field that has so much potential for research and study. This is a great effort towards deviating from the cliche and conventional educational system towards a more diverse and modern education system. Keep it up!
The basics should be imparted at the high school level and it should be turned into a subject in every university, I believe !
Just for the record, as someone very interested in religion and sufism (and all topics that come within). Sufism and Islam are not mutually exclusive. If one's basics aren't correct, then sufism can potentially do more harm than good. But in it's pure form it is indeed beautiful. Reaching Allah through love and losing yourself completely are essentially the basics of Islam, and Sufism teaches you HOW to reach that. It's important to not forget this distinction.
Amazing this is, Sufism is one of the purest thing left on earth. I hope, they teach they right thing in right way.
