Leaders who declared their assets include Shah Mehmood Qureshi, Javed Hashmi, Dr Arif Alvi, Jahangir Tareen, Asad Umar, Fauzia Kasuri, Nadir Leghari and Shireen Mazari.
Party chief Imran Khan had declared his assets in December last year. Back then, Khan had said that PTI will only award party tickets to those who meet their transparency criteria, and that they would not commit anything to those joining the party.
Khan has also been recently accused of evading taxes by Pakistan Muslim League – Nawaz (PML-N) leaders.

Shah Mehmood Qureshi
Qureshi’s immovable property in Pakistan include 15 houses, out of which 13 are inherited, one was gifted and one house in Multan is worth Rs80,00,000. He has no immovable property outside Pakistan.
He also does not have any movable assets in Pakistan or elsewhere and neither has any investments.

I think value is not very much important its the courage to tell the public what they own before election and what they own after election value can change but not the assets.

All, today i stand disappointed and tend to think that this is not above board.
I don't know too many of these people but I know of dr arif alvi and his stature in Pakistan as one of the countries top men in dental. For that stature and his office and his charges you can expect that he earns very well (and that is a good thing, nothing to be upset or angry about).
I am shocked at his income tax declaration. As a mid level salaried employee I pay rs 30,000 in income tax per month. This is deducted at source by my employer. I am in my early 30's. This means that I pay as much tax as mr alvi every year. This means that he earns as much as I do!!!
It defies logic that I would be earning the same amount as mr alvi.
This leads me to believe that this is not a complete declaration of wealth. If one senior reps declaration is off, others could be too.

JDW Mills owned by federal industries minister Jehangir Tareen released about 54 per cent of its 105,000 tons production. United Sugar Mills, also owned by Mr Tareen, released 51 per cent of 35,570 tons production.. In this way we couldnt find the ownership of JDW sugar mils and United Sugar Mills by Jehangir khan Tareen which according to different media sources have been owned by Jehangir khan Tareen so this is a distortion which tells us that these declerations should be verified
The other politicians/bureaucrats related to any political party the especially importantly PPP's including Zardari,Gillani,Rehman Malik and PML-N's including Nawaz Sharif and PML-Q's including Chaudhry brothers must have to follow this PTI's representatives' example as soon as possible on priority basis honestly,sincerely and truly according to their true and real income so that misconceptions about them in the nation's minds could be removed/eradicated easily and they could get their lost fame and popularity in Pakistani nation's minds......
This has nothing to do with economy of Pakistan.
A great step towards open and transparent democracy. It is time we ask similar questions and openness from leaders of other parties. We can't progress unless we give all these leaders tough time and make them accountable to a common person.

Considering Paksitan, there will definitely be doubts about the truth-worthiness of this information. This is still a very positive step forward and must be appreciated regardless of the political bias. Others need to come forward as well.

lol, it is so sad, that people are nitpicking the numbers, this is the reason why we can't progress as a nation, rather than talking about positives we start comparing their wealth to us and our circumstances.
how about we appreciate an effort by these politicians to try to declare their assets at least this way we could have some accountability, rather than having nothing. Also there is nothing wrong with naming things to ur kids names as long as your kids are independent persons and not living in the same household.

Those who have questioned AU not owning any vehicle should know that while in service he must have been using company car & he retired very recently.
looking at the figures of Asad Umar, I seriously don't mind paying over 120,000 as income tax annually ( which at the moment i do pay but it hurts! )... If such guys were in the parliament, I wouldn't mind paying more...

Bull-crap and hogwash of the highest pedigree! We don't consider anything legit unless the actual returns and wealth statements validated by the FBR are dessiminated to the public at large. We have already seen how PTI revolutionaries in the past have flashed around neatly stapled A4 size papers which had in them the details and assets of PML-N leaders and claimed that these unauthenticated documents were iron-clad proofs of Shareef's corruption and embezzlement of public money.

is there no tax on inherited property in pakistan that they dont need to declare the value of inherited property? I can understand there being no inheritance tax but there should be an tax on inherited property like there is a wealth tax on all other property

This is a good beginning and must be appreciated by all. However, it is an open secret that most rich people do not have their assets on their names. The assets are on spouse's and kid's name. Even in the West people do that for one reason or the other. The whole family's assets must be declared otherwise it would be like Dr. Arsalan having a billion worth of business and his father talking about him being poor and homeless! Being a govt servant the CJ has to disclose his family wealth each year but the real wealth was on Arsalan's name! Be that as it may, this is a great example for the others by PTI leaders especially for Sharifs. In addition, there should be a new latest list of all the loan defaulters so that people can see the names of real thieves.
