BAHAWALPUR: Livestock Department on Wednesday recovered a dead buffalo from a truck during a crackdown on sale of dead animal’s meat in the district. The driver was caught and handed over to Cantonment police. He told police that the buffalo had been purchased from Marot by butchers, Sharif and Iqbal. He said they had told him to deliver the animal to a cattle farm near old Sabzi Mandi. Police said he had also named some butchers, including Mona, Shadda and Guddu, who appeared to be involved in the sale of dead animal’s meat. Investigations have begun and arrests will soon be made, police said.
