PML-N, PTI differences will not benefit PPP in elections: Gilani
Talking to APP before leaving for Lahore, he said there would be no clash among institutions if they work “within their constitutional limits”, adding that forces plotting against the government would not succeed.
Gilani also categorically ruled out the notion that differences between Pakistan Muslim League (PML-N) and Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) would benefit the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) in the next elections.
“Everyone should not forget the fact that all opposite forces were united against Abdul Qadir Gilani in recent by-polls in NA-151 constituency, but nobody could dent the PPP’s vote bank,” he said.

@Musa: There is famous saying that the Rome was not built in a day. To do something is different and to say some is different things. Our society is plagued by multiple problems religious/ethnic divisions so no body change the present system over the days. We have complicated legal system beside many related issues.Above all the Imran Khan represents Elite class he does carries the revolutionary programme with him. So we should not attach to much from PTI .
@AS: So far I do not see any strong alliance of PML N with other major parties in the country whereas the PPP led alliance has its representation in all the four province. it will be very uphill task for the PML N to sweep in the next general elections. Similarly is the case with the PTI which is not very familiar in the rural areas.

I say they should make Ik the next interim PM as he says he requires 90 days to get us rid of all of the corruption which indeed is a noble idea and we have all suffered at the hands of it, and IK himself says he only needs 90 days to fix it and that it is the biggest problem we have. He can resign from PTI be the interim PM rid us of this corruption and his party filled with the youth can come into power. That is a brilliant idea if I say so myself, IK gets a chance to prove himself while incharge and the rest of the parties can see who wins the election and the majority forms the govt and as such everybody wins!!
@Mirza, It shows how PPP fans desperately want PTI to split the vote bank and even seats. My friend, whatever the permutation and combination applies, next 5 years belong to rightist parties.
To make a federal govt in Pakistan, a party has to have support from most if not all the provinces. PML-N has no support in Sind and Seraiki areas and also very little in KPK. They would never have a majority in the senate and would have to include others even to make a coalition govt in the center. On the other hand PPP and PTI (in place of PML-Q) could make a stable govt after the next elections.
We believe with confidence it’s less the unsuitability and jiala quality we admire, and more the capacity to hoodwink us that we marvel. Perchance we have been dazzled by the complexity of politics.
More likely it is less the inaptness and heartlessness we admire, and more the aptitude to escape with it that puzzles our imagination. Possibly we’re just a little captivated with the appeal of astuteness.
@Yasir Not horse trading, if PMLN and PMLQ (both parties) had made an alliance they could have the majority (about 145 seats as compared to PPP's 124). Fata already goes with the majority party.
Anyways in the 2013 elections, presently it seems there will be three blocks having significant seats. PMLN might get the highest number of seats but definitely not enough to form their own government (I believe they could get around 80-90 seats in the national assembly). A coalition government will be needed again and no political party trusts PMLN. The most important factor in the next elections will be youth. If PTI can convince the youth and those people who dont traditionally vote to come out of their houses to cast their vote, the results can be very unpredictable..

@Ali that would have required horse trading would that have been good? a total return to 90's politics. Why don't we accept that people voted for PPP to rule whether you like it or not. PPP could not have been robbed of their right to rule especially the volatile situation in Sindh after BB's death. Things could have gone worse. Democracy is an alien concept to our society mostly people think it is kind of a wrestling ring. At least appreciate PML-N for shunning the dirty games previously oppositions played to come in power with the help of army , most of times.

what his excellency fails to mentions is the over Rs 30 billion he spent in Multan (on different projects, at the cost of development in other parts of Punjab) and foreign trips for over 4000 people from Multan as political patronage... he is also ignoring the fact that if IK had held one jalsa in Multan prior to the by-election, his son would have lost miserably...
Unfortunately for Pakistanis Mr Gilani is right. We are a nation driven by vested interests at all levels and we will bring them back to destroy whatever is left of this poor nation.
Mr. Gillani must seek other interests besides Politics. Let the voters worry about that.

In the next elections, at the moment it seems as if it would be a split mandate and if PMLN thinks it will form the next government solo then they should forget it as there would again be a coalition government and PPP is good in that.
@Yasir they could have formed the government, had Nawaz Sharif lowered his ego a bit and formed a coalition with PMLQ. ANP, MQM, and FATA members would have joined suit had both parties managed to cobble a coalition. Most of their members are their allies now in any case.
Its the right of PTI to participate in the elections, if PMLN has performed in the province they shouldnt be scared. I have voted PMLN during the past two elections, and I believe I have wasted my vote, wont commit the mistake again. Youth would be the game changer in the next elections.

Election 2008 PPP 10.6 Million Votes PMLQ 8 Mn PMLN 7 Mn. This time 45 Mn new young voters. These new voters will decide the actual results. Make Ur own survey. Just take the sample of 10 people around U who never voted previously. Ask them to whom they will vote. U will find the result before elections.
The nation has seen his vision as a Prime Minister taking the country into economic crisis. If a politics means corruption in Pakistan, he is an amazing politician.

Why didn't you give this advice to your leader Nawaz Sharif who despite being in the position of having his PM or President during this 5 yr tenure, gave it all up because he was not a member of parliament and could not see anyone else other himself on the seat of PM or President from his own party.

The Ex Prime Minister is in great misunderstanding that the PPP is going to sweep in the next general elections. In view of its worst performance of five years nobody has good memories and attachment with the PPP. Gilani got sympathy votes in NA 151. In the general election the different picture will emerge. The same will be fate of its allies ANP/MQM and Q Leaque.
Since Gilani is denying the notion that PTI is helping PPP we should better believe that indeed PTI is helping PPP

yes we all know that PTI & PPP are working at backend to reduce the no of PML(N) seats from punjab. then there will be colliation govt in center with the help of PTI, PML(Q) from punjab, MQM from sindh, ANP from KPKH. Prime Minister from PTI and President from PPP.
