Electricity Theft: Twenty-three people arrested

PESHAWAR: Detection teams, constituted on the directives of the Pesco Chief Executive, rounded up 23 power thieves and removed illegal connections and direct hooks throughout the province. According to details, the Khyber Circle checking team, led by Nadeem Anwar, arrested the 23 persons from Kohat Division. Among those arrested are Sher Hussain from King Tailor, Sher Muhammad of Unique Tailors, Fazal Rabbi, Wajahat Hussain from New Nerala sweets and Abdul Quyym. The detection teams are performing their job in Pesco’s six circles with the special task to reduce line losses and improve recovery of bills. The chief executive appealed to the public to avoid any illegal use of electricity and remove all direct hooks immediately. Pesco said it needed cooperation to overcome load-shedding and ensure an uninterrupted power supply.
